The Poster Perfect Proposal

When my fiancé proposed to me, he did it in the most romantic way I could ever imagine. He left a note in our apartment telling me to be ready to go out at six and to dress up. At six (on the dot), I heard a knock on the door and opened it only to see his two best friends! They told me he was running a little late and had sent them to pick me up. They also said that he had asked them to blindfold me so that he could see the surprise on my face when I saw where we were having dinner.

They blindfolded me and led me out to their car. We drove for about an hour, then they stopped and we got out. They led me along a paved walk, handed me a piece of poster board, and told me to hold it and wait. While I was standing there, I kept on hearing the women passing me saying things like “That’s so sweet” and “She is so lucky!”

About five or ten minutes later, my boyfriend walked up to me, took the poster board away, kissed me, and removed my blindfold. We were in my hometown, which was about an hour away from where we lived, and all my family was standing around us! He asked me to marry him on the spot (obviously I said yes). My favorite touch, though, was that afterwards he revealed what had been on the poster board I had been holding all that time: it said, “My boyfriend is about to propose to me and I have no idea!” What a sweetie.
