Engagement Ring Cost Calculation

Making an engagement ring cost calculation can be difficult. After all, how can you put a price on your love?

The old rule of thumb that you should spend two month’s salary on your engagement ring is still widely in use. However, given your own personal circumstances, this may or may not be feasible. Use the two month rule as a starting point and go from there when doing your engagement ring cost calculation.

Take the two months salary price and start shopping around. You may want to look at some internet jewelry sites. If you do go online, however just make sure that you deal only with reputable firms, such as BlueNile.

Wherever you buy your engagement ring, make sure you get a written guarantee of the quality and carat size of both the diamond and the setting. When you receive your ring, you might want to pay an independent, certified gemologist to carefully examine the ring and verify its quality against the paperwork you received.

If there is a discrepancy in the quality stated versus the quality found by the gemologist, contact the merchant immediately. The time to find out about the quality, or lack thereof, in your engagement ring is before the proposal, not 10 years down the road when there is a problem.

There are a great many styles of engagement rings available. Shop around and take those styles into account when doing your engagement ring cost calculation. You can choose from an engagement ring with multiple small stones, stones encrusted through the setting, or a single large stone.

There are even contemporary engagement rings that incorporate beautiful colored gemstones along with the diamonds. You may see an engagement ring containing rubies or emeralds in addition to the standard diamonds.

By using your engagement ring cost calculation, you can find a stunning ring that fits both your fiancĂ©’s taste and your budget. There are many prices of engagement rings to choose from. By shopping around, you can be sure of getting the most ring for your money.

Vacation Surprises

My now husband drove from Dallas, Texas to Knoxville, Tennessee, where I was on vacation with my mom. He called me from his cell phone on the last day to say I had a surprise at the front desk which turned out to be him! He told me he had arranged another week off for me and that we could go wherever I wanted – northeast to New York, South to Florida, wherever.

The next day, we drove my mother to the airport, then set off on our own to do some sightseeing. I thought that maybe he was going to propose, but he never even hinted at it. We we called on stage at a matinee concert – no proposal. We trekked to the highest point in the Smoky Mountains – no proposal.

Toward the end of the day, we went hiking in the Smoky Mountains. We were watching the sunset along the trail. When I turned around, he was on one knee with a ring! I said yes to the proposal and we finished our hike and went back into town to celebrate!

I chose to just take a slow trip back home and we played tourist all the way back to Dallas. We visited the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, ate barbecue in Memphis, and had the bathhouse experience in Hot Springs. I couldn’t have planned a better proposal myself! 11 months later we were married in an intimate ceremony and then celebrated with a huge all-day lake party with all of our friends and family!
