Gigantic Bouquet of Roses

One of my favorite engagement stories involves a man who had to fly to visit his girlfriend. She was waiting to pick him up at the airport.

While on the plane, he got the flight attendants to ask everyone on the plane if they would help him with his engagement plan. Each passenger was given a rose and as they got off the plane, they handed their rose to his girlfriend. He was the last one off the plane, so by the time he got off, she was standing there with a GIGANTIC bouquet of roses.

He brought his own rose, then got down on his knee, pulled out the ring (before the crowd of people who were all VERY excited for him) and asked her to marry him. She said yes!

If you’re thinking of proposing to a woman, you could apply this idea to other situations besides an airplane. What’s exciting about it is that so many people are involved and the most important person – the soulmate – gets to do the grand finale.

The Dessert Menu

I believe that the story of how my husband proposed to me is both unique and romantic. We had been dating for a year and a half and talked about marriage, so I knew the question was coming soon, but I didn’t expect it when it actually happened!

We were at one of our favorite restaurants, and he seemed to be acting kind of odd. He wasn’t acting too strange… but something didn’t seem right. We finished eating our meal and the waiter came by and dropped off a dessert menu.

I read through the menu and when I got to the bottom it said, “Wedding Cake. Will you marry me?” I was shocked! Of course I said yes though!

He had apparently gone to the restaurant a few days earlier and met with the manager to discuss having the waiter bring out the menu that he had created at home on his computer. The reason he was acting funny was because he wanted to make sure they knew we were there, but he was having a hard time trying to do that without me being suspicious.

To top it all off, some of our best friends just happened to be at the restaurant at the same time, and they were the first ones to congratulate us. It was the perfect proposal.
