Write words describing the beloved on ribbons. Tie ribbons loosely on branches of a tree in a lovely park. One of the ribbons will be wrapped around the ring (if there is one), or another gift.
Your beloved will be led to the tree, reading the ribbons with the descriptive words, but one of them will slip down to her holding a ring or gift. The ribbon itself may include the proposal, or their finding it may just trigger the proposal.
A really great idea that once came across my mind for an engagement proposal was to have a treasure map.
You would tell her to go follow the treasure map and have tons of obstacles to get around it saying like “if you really love me you will wait 20 minutes for me to set up the next obstacle” and make it really fun.
At the end of course, you would be there with the big proposal. Suprise her with all of your friends being there also. You can make it a big party right after you two are engaged. : )
