A Beautiful Scene

A friend of mine told me her proposal story, which I thought was incredibly romantic and creative! She and her boyfriend liked to walk and hike, but had not had much time to do this together for a bit, as he had been away on business for a few weeks. In fact, she was worried that they were growing apart. She had been wanting to get married, and felt that he was the right guy for her. They had also discussed marriage, children and their dreams.

When her boyfriend returned from his business trip, he asked her to go on a hike, on a trail that he had found. he said that he wanted some alone time to talk, and to show her a pretty view that he had seen before. She shared with me that she was really worried, because she thought that he was using the hike as a way to have “the chat” about breaking up, or at least taking some time out from their relationship. She didn’t tell him this, but I guess he had to convince her to do with him.

They took a picnic lunch with them, and stopped part-way into their hike to eat. My friend was nervous, but the boyfriend still hadn’t said anything about breaking up or taking a break. he did tell her how much he loved her, and how much he had missed her. So far, it was going well. he said they needed to walk a little further to see the view – it would be breath-taking!

They walked a bit more, then came up on a clearing. he handed her a pair of binoculars and said to look through to a beautiful scene across from them. When she did – there was a big sign he had put up earlier on another hill far from the trail….WILL YOU MARRY ME?
