Perfect Simple & Intimate Proposal
Everyone dreams up elaborate proposals — billboards, signs, and airplane writers — but I always wanted something simpler, something more intimate.
I envision the perfect proposal to take place on one of the outlooks on the road going up a mountain. A perfect sun setting painting the sky with brilliant reds and yellows. We would drive up to the outlook, a slow ascend up the mountain discussing just ordinary daily happenings as we went, some soft music playing.
We would sit in the car a moment taking in what a beautiful view of the sunset and valley it was; we would get out and walk around to the front of the car, to get a better view. The windows would be down on the car, the music that had been playing would be whispering into the air. If one listened carefully the song playing is what we considered to be “our songĀ.”
He would take my left hand in his and then turn towards me, rub his thumb over my ring finger, and begin to tell me about how much he loves me and how we complete each other. He would then do the classic down on one knee and hold up a beautiful diamond engagement ring and ask me to spend the rest of my life with him. And just as the sun sank behind the mountains and stars sprinkled the sky I would say yes and wrap my arms around him and we would share our first kiss as an engaged couple with only the future filled with hope before us.
