The Surprise Video
One of the sweetest proposal stories I’ve heard is of a couple who was working hard to keep their long distance relationship alive between Minnesota and Ohio. The boyfriend arranged everything with the parents so that they could fool her into thinking that the boyfriend had purchased tickets for her to come see him over spring break. The day before the girlfriend was scheduled to fly down to see him in Ohio, she received a package from UPS containing a video.
The video was a slide show of pictures that he had taken throughout their relationship along with copies of love letters and audio that they had sent to each other on tapes. There was corny music, the whole deal. At the end of the video, after the sappy “I love you, I love you” part, she was directed to go out and look around the side of the house because there was a surprise waiting for her.
Sure enough, her boyfriend had made the drive up and was down on one knee as she came around the corner of the house.
